Effective August 30, 2024, <a href="https://content.lafpp.lacity.gov/board-of-commissioners/commissioners/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nanxi Liu</a> was appointed by Mayor Karen Bass and confirmed by the City Council to serve a five-year term ending June 30, 2029. Commissioner Liu will fill the vacancy created by the departure of former commissioner Sumi Parekh. This is Commissioner Liu&#8217;s first appointment to the Board of Fire and Police Pension Commissioners.
