Message Regarding UFLAC Conservatorship
LAFPP is aware of the conservatorship placed over United Firefighters of Los Angeles City (UFLAC) by the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF). Currently, we are not aware of any information affecting your benefits. We will continue to monitor the situation and request information from the IAFF if necessary.

City Pension Contribution True-Up
On April 14, 2025, the Los Angeles City Controller, Kenneth Mejia, met with LAFPP staff to discuss the City’s general fund contribution. The discussion focused on a “true-up” of the City’s annual contribution. As part of the yearly actuarial valuation process, the LAFPP Board commissions a report from its independent consulting actuary, which determines the annual contribution rates (on a percentage of sworn payroll basis) required to fund the pension and retiree health benefits promised by the City to LAFPP members.

You can request a Pension Verification Letter online using MyLAFPP, or you may download and complete a Pension Verification Letter Form and email it to [email protected] or mail it to us at: Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions, Retirements Services Section, 701 E. Third Street, Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90013. In addition, forms can be mailed to you by calling the Retirement Services Section at (213) 279-3125 or (844) 88-LAFPP, or by email at [email protected].
Retired Members and Qualified Survivors can update their address using MyLAFPP. Pensioners are advised to submit a signed written notification of the address change (fax, email or U.S. Mail) or download and submit a Change of Address Form.
Active Members must update through their employing department.

You may log in to MyLAFPP to calculate a cost estimate. If, after reviewing the cost estimate, you want to purchase your recruit training time, you may submit your request through MyLAFPP, or by contacting Active Member Services at (213) 279-3140 or (844) 88-LAFPP, or by e-mail at [email protected]
You may now submit or update your beneficiary designation(s) electronically by logging into MyLAFPP, your member self-service portal.
You may also update your beneficiary information by submitting a completed Designation of Beneficiary form by mail, fax to (213) 628-7716, or by email to [email protected]
1099-R are now available on MyLAFPP. It is the easiest and fastest way to view and print your tax statement without waiting for delivery to your mailing address.
