b'2019 In January 2019, following negotiations between the City and labor unions over concerns that members were taking extended periods of time off after entering DROP, the City Council adopted the following amendments to the DROP program:1.Any member who enters DROP on or after February 1, 2019, shall have his/her participation in DROP suspended for any month in which he/she does not spend at least 112 hours on active duty.2.Members who sustain a serious injury on duty and are hospitalized for 3 or more consecutive days as a direct result of that injury, are exempt from the above provision for the first year following the date of injury.2020 In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, all in-person seminars and member counseling services were transitioned to virtual sessions.
